I came to pilates following a very bad experience in a motorbike race back in 2014. I found myself with difficulties in using my hands for 3 months. After checking that I did not have any serious recurrent physical issue but that it was due to physical load, my wife convinced me to try Pilates. Since then, it is not possible for me to envision an active lifestyle or any lifestyle without the support of Pilates. In my case, active positive lifestyle not only includes multiple sports activities (racing motorbike, racing cross-country car, racing mountainbike, kitesurfing and mountaineering) but also just feeling well in my everyday life.
Pilates is not only a mean to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture and mental awareness, it is also and mainly teaching your body the correct places and ways of sourcing its strength when you are exercising any activity. You create muscle and breathing mechanisms that allow you to increase dramatically your level of performance while reducing risk of injury.
I had the chance of experiencing Pilates in different countries following different philosophies and have found in Iva’s method the most satisfying approach.
The variety of solutions (matt, reformer, floor, etc.) combined with different level of intensity results in a program that always seems tailored for each individual specific needs. Variety also helps in having a routine that is always fun. Finally, I am very blessed that Iva looks after me as she is able of combining a very high level of understanding of body mechanisms with her incredible intuition. She reads my body state in one second and has the ‘’tools’’ that are effective for this specific moment.
I can only strongly recommend anybody to try Iva – and by now I was already able of enrolling my wife, my parents, my kids who have all their own routine with her.
